Eagles Play In Minute Maid

The BCS Eagles travelled to Houston Wednesday to take on familiar foe Incarnate Word in Minute Maid Park. "This is a great opportunity for our boys" said Crihfield "I want to make sure we thank the Astros for giving us this opportunity and thank all of the parents who helped sell tickets to make this happen".

Both teams got all of their boys in the game. Incarnate Word threw five different pitchers while BCS threw seven. "We wanted to make sure that we got every kid on the field. It's not often a kid gets to say he played in Minute Maid Park. Not only did everyone get on the field, everyone played their role well." said Coach Jones after the game. The Eagles out hit the opposition 9-1 on the night but ended up falling 5-6 due to a few untimely errors. "Two errors in the first, and two errors in the sixth. That's all it was" said Jones. "Those are errors we generally don't make".

Incarnate Word didn't have a single earned run in the game but ended up walking away with the win."That's baseball" said Crihfield. "I think the boys will learn from what just happened".

Both coaches stressed early on that this game wasn't about winning. It was about getting the boys on a major league field and providing them with an experience that only a hand full of programs across the state can provide.
